About Joanna Cole
Joanna Cole, born on August 11, 1944 in New Jersey, was a renowned Children’s Author. She is best known for creating The Magic School Bus series of children’s books and authored over two hundred other titles including Bug in a Rug, Bully Trouble, Dinosaur Story, and the Ready, Set, Dogs! series.
After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the City College of New York, she worked as a librarian at a New York City school before holding positions at Newsweek, Scholastic, and Doubleday Books.
During her schooling years in East Orange, New Jersey she developed an interest in science which later served as inspiration for her popular Magic School Bus stories. Joanna eventually settled with her husband Philip in Norfolk Connecticut.
