About Jill Janus
Jill Janus was an American heavy metal singer, best known as the front woman of bands such as Huntress, The Starbreakers, and Chelsea Girls. Born on September 2, 1975 in Catskill, New York, she had a unique upbringing where she practiced paganism in her childhood before pursuing a career in music.
Janus initially ventured into opera singing before developing an interest in thrash metal during her teenage years. Later on, she honed her skills at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Interestingly, she began her music career by working as a topless DJ under the alias Penelope Tuesdae and also found work in cabaret.
Tragically, Jill Janus battled with mental health issues throughout her life; suffering from dissociative identity disorder and schizophrenia. Her struggles came to a poignant end when she took her own life near Portland, Oregon.
