Jessica Ward is an American novelist, born on April 19, 1969 in Boston, Massachusetts. Known for her work in the romance genre, she has authored series such as Black Dagger Brotherhood and The Moorehouse Legacy Series. Her literary career took off with the publication of her first novel, Leaping Hearts, in 2001.
Before gaining success as a writer, Ward obtained a bachelor’s degree from Smith College where she majored in history and art history. She later earned a law degree from Albany Law School.
Notably, Ward writes contemporary romance novels under her maiden name Jessica Bird and paranormal romance novels under J.R. Ward.
In terms of family life, her parents are W. Gillette Bird Jr. and Maxine F. Bird. In 2001, she married John Neville Blakemore III.
