About Jess Smith
Jess Smith is a Scottish non-fiction author and storyteller, born on November 23, 1948 in Aberfeldy, Scotland. Her work primarily focuses on the experiences of Scottish travelers.
Smith has authored several books, including three autobiographies titled “Jessie’s Journey,” “Tales From The Tent,” and “Tears for A Tinker.”
Prior to gaining fame as an author, she lived with her parents and seven sisters on a bus from the age of five to fifteen.
In addition to her writing career, Smith led a campaign in 2014 to save the Tinkers’ Heart monument in Argyll, Scotland. In 2012, she published her seventh book titled “Way of the Wanderers.”
She is a mother of two sons and a daughter.
