Jennifer Simpson, born on August 23, 1986 in Webster City, Iowa, is a professional middle distance runner and steeplechaser. She gained recognition for her participation in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics as a representative of the United States. During high school at Oviedo High School, she achieved notable success as a five-time state champion in cross country. While pursuing higher education at the University of Colorado, she competed in the 2008 Olympics before signing her first professional deal with New Balance in January 2010.
