About Jennifer Donnelly
Jennifer Donnelly is a Young Adult Author known for her Carnegie Medal-winning young adult historical fiction work A Northern Light. She was born on August 16, 1963 in Port Chester, New York.
Donnelly studied literature and history at the University of Rochester before embarking on her writing career. Her debut children’s work, Humble Pie, was published two decades after her studies.
In addition to A Northern Light, some of Donnelly’s popular novels include Revolution, The Tea Rose, and The Winter Rose.
A Northern Light not only won the Carnegie Medal but also received a School Library Journal Award, an ALA-Booklist Editors’ Choice Award, and several other honors.
She grew up in an Irish-American family in Port Chester and has one daughter from her marriage.
