Jeannie Seely, born on July 6, 1940 in Titusville, Pennsylvania, is an American country music singer. She achieved fame by winning a Grammy Award for her 1966 song “Don’t Touch Me” and has also released hits such as the #6 single “Can I Sleep In Your Arms.”
Seely was born the youngest of four children to musical parents and made her television debut at sixteen years old on the station WICU. After graduating, she worked at a bank and as a secretary.
She appeared in the 2003 movie Changing Hearts with Faye Dunaway.
Seely was previously married to songwriter Hank Cochran before marrying attorney Gene Ward in 2010.
