About Jean Terrell
Jean Terrell, born on November 26, 1944, in Mississippi, is an R&B singer best known for her role as the replacement for Diana Ross in The Supremes in 1970. She performed with the popular vocal group for three years before briefly pursuing a solo career. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, she was part of a music group called F.L.O.S. (The Former Ladies of the Supremes).
Prior to her fame, Terrell was discovered by Berry Gordy while performing at a Miami club in 1968. He signed her to Motown Records and made her a member of The Supremes.
Her debut solo album, “I Had to Fall in Love,” was released in 1978.
Born and raised in Belzoni, Mississippi, Jean later settled in Chicago, Illinois. Her brother Ernie Terrell was a champion heavyweight boxer who faced Muhammad Ali.
