Houston has penned works such as A Mythic Life: Learning to Live our Greater Story and A Feminine Myth of Creation that delve into psychological and sociological themes.
After graduating from Barnard College in New York, she went on to earn advanced degrees in psychology and religion from two online universities. During the 1960s and early 1970s, she taught at Marymount College, Tarrytown.
