About Jackie Woodburne
Jackie Woodburne is an Irish-born Australian actress, born on February 5, 1956 in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland. She is best known for her long-running role as Susan Kennedy in the popular soap opera Neighbours. Woodburne gained recognition for her portrayal of Julie Egbert in the 1980s series Prisoner: Cell Block H.
Prior to her fame, she attended the National Theatre Drama School where she crossed paths with future Neighbours cast mate Janet Andrewartha.
In addition to her television work, Woodburne has also lent her talents to Night Terrace, a comedy audio series reminiscent of Doctor Who, where she played the lead role in 2014.
Woodburne hails from a family with ties to law enforcement; her father was a member of the Royal Ulster Constabulary in Northern Ireland. She has two older brothers named John and Stephen. When she was three years old, Woodburne and her family relocated to Australia.
