About Jackie French
Jackie French is an Australian young adult author, known for her popular novels To the Moon and Back and Hitler’s Daughter. She was born on November 29, 1953 in Sydney, Australia.
She received the Children’s Book of the Year/Eve Pownall Award for To the Moon and Back and the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s annual award for Hitler’s Daughter.
Prior to publishing Rain Stones, her debut work of children’s fiction, she authored several nonfiction books about gardening. Her picture book Diary of a Wombat was named an American Library Association Notable Children’s Book in 2002.
French was raised primarily in Brisbane, Australia and later settled in Australia’s Araluen Valley with her husband Bryan Sullivan.
