About Izabela Dragneva
Izabela Dragneva is a former female weightlifter from Bulgaria known for her achievements in the sport.
She was born on October 1, 1971, in Bulgaria and gained notoriety after winning a gold medal at the 1998 European Championships in Riesa, Germany. Her success continued with a total of 4 golds and 2 silvers in various European and international weightlifting competitions.
Unfortunately, her career took a controversial turn when she was stripped of her Olympic gold medal in 2000 due to testing positive for steroids. Despite this setback, Dragneva’s accomplishments remain an important part of Bulgarian weightlifting history.
Her parents are Dimitar and Mira Dragneva.
