About Ivonka Survilla
Ivonka Survilla (born April 11, 1936) is a Belarusian politician who currently serves as the President of the Belarus National Republic (BNR), the government in exile for Belarus. She holds the distinction of being the first woman president of the Rada and gained attention as the original signer of the Prague Declaration on European Conscience and Communism.
Prior to her political career, Survilla ran a Belarusian language radio station in Madrid, Spain. In addition to her political endeavors, she is also an accomplished painter whose work has been showcased in more than 30 exhibitions.
Survilla was born in Belarus to Uladzimier Shymaniets, an engineer, and has made significant contributions to both politics and art throughout her life.
