About Ingrid Jensen
Ingrid Jensen (born January 12, 1966) is a Canadian jazz trumpeter with notable achievements in her career. She has been nominated for a Juno Award and is recognized for her work as a member of the Maria Schneider jazz Orchestra. In addition to her collaborations, Jensen has released solo albums including Higher Grounds, Vernal Fields, and Here on Earth.
Before gaining recognition in the jazz world, she studied music at both Berklee College of Music and Malaspina University. Notably, Jensen was also part of a group of back-up musicians who performed with comedian Denis Leary.
Jensen’s family includes her husband Jon Wikan, who is also a drummer, as well as her sister Christine who had a successful career as a saxophonist.
