About Imaani
Imaani is an English singer who gained recognition after representing the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998 with her performance of “Where Are You.” Born on January 1, 1972, in Nottingham, England as Melonie Crosdale, she later assumed the name Imaani Saleem. Growing up in a musical family, she honed her talent by sneaking into her uncle’s band rehearsals. In 2014, she released her debut studio album Standing Tall after years of building her career. Notably, Imaani provided lead vocals for Tru Faith & Dub Conspiracy’s cover of “Freak Like Me” by Adina Howard in 2000.
