In 2015, Cung made headlines when she was crowned Miss Nebraska USA while continuing to anchor the nightly news for NBC Nebraska.
Prior to her success as a journalist and beauty queen, Cung earned her bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. She also received a fellowship from CBS News in New York City during her undergraduate studies.
