About Hiromi Uehara
Hiromi Uehara, born on March 26, 1979 in Japan, is a renowned composer and virtuoso jazz artist. She is known for her energetic fusion of post-bop, progressive rock, classical, and fusion genres. In 2006, her trio Sonicbloom welcomed acclaimed guitarist David Fiuczynski into the group.
Prior to gaining fame as a jazz musician, Hiromi worked as a jingle writer for Japanese companies like Nissan. Her debut studio album “Another Mind” was released in 2003, followed by “Brain” in 2004.
Notably, she was signed by the jazz label Telarc before completing her studies at Berklee College of Music and received mentorship from Ahmad Jamal during her time there.
Hiromi’s musical talents were nurtured by her family; she began taking classical piano lessons at the age of five.
