Halie Loren is an American jazz singer, born on October 23, 1984, in Sitka, Alaska. She gained recognition for her album Heart First, which reached the top of the iTunes Canada jazz albums chart in 2011. In addition, her album They Oughta Write a Song received the Just Plain Folks award for Best Vocal jazz Album in 2009.
Prior to her musical career taking off, Loren participated in the Sitka Fine Arts Camp at age ten and later relocated to Oregon with her family when she was thirteen years old.
An interesting fact about Halie Loren is that her album They Oughta Write a Song achieved high sales numbers in Japan and was second only to another jazz album in terms of copies sold there during 2008.
Loren comes from a small family; she has one older sister.
