Grace Napolitano (born December 4, 1936) is a Democratic politician who has been serving as the Member of the US House of Representatives from California since 1999. Prior to her political career, she worked at the Ford Motor Company for 21 years before being elected to the California Assembly in 1992. In addition to her political duties, Napolitano has also served as a host for the Congressional Art Competition and the Women of the Year ceremonies.One notable achievement of Napolitano’s was spearheading a school-based Latina adolescent mental health program in three local middle schools and one high school after statistics revealed that one in three Latina adolescents had contemplated suicide.
