Gladys Cooper (1888-12-18) was a British actress known for her Academy Award-nominated performances in The Song of Bernadette and My Fair Lady. She began her acting career in 1905 with the musical Bluebell in Fairyland. Cooper continued to act in plays throughout her career, reprising her role as Mrs. St. Maugham in The Chalk Garden at the age of eighty-two.
Cooper was married three times: to Captain Herbert Buckmaster, Sir Neville Pearson, and actor Philip Merivale; she had two daughters and one son from her first two marriages.
