Gia Scala was a British movie actress, known for her iconic role as Anna in the 1961 film The Guns of Navarone and as Theresa Renata in the 1957 movie The Garment Jungle. Born Josephine Grace Scoglio on March 3, 1934, she grew up in England, Italy, and the United States.
Scala made her film debut in All That Heaven Allows in 1955 alongside Rock Hudson and Jane Wyman. She also appeared in various television shows such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Tarzan, and The Islanders.
Tragically, Scala struggled with substance abuse and psychological issues which led to her untimely death from an accidental drug and alcohol overdose at a young age.
Her marriage to Don Burnett began in 1959 but ended in divorce in 1970.
