About Gennifer Choldenko
Gennifer Choldenko, born on October 20, 1957, in Santa Monica, California is a well-known children’s author known for her juvenile fiction works. She gained significant recognition for her Al Capone series, notably earning the prestigious Newberry Honor award for “Al Capone Does My Shirts”.
Choldenko studied illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design and initially worked as an advertising copywriter before pursuing a full-time career as a novelist.
In addition to her Newberry Honor award, Choldenko also earned a British Carnegie Medal for “Al Capone Does My Shirts”. She currently resides with her husband Jacob and their two children named Ian and Kai.
