About Gemma Mengual
Gemma Mengual is a Spanish synchronized swimmer born on April 12, 1977, in Barcelona, Spain. She is known for representing her country at the Olympics in 2000, 2004, and 2008 and then coming out of retirement to compete again at the 2016 Games. Notably, she won a silver medal in women’s duet at the Olympics in 2008.
Mengual began her career as a teenager in 1992 when she started competing for Spain. Throughout her career, she achieved significant milestones such as winning gold at the 2009 World Championships and being named Spanish Sportswoman of the Year in 2005.
Aside from her professional accomplishments, Mengual has also been focusing on her family life. She married Enric Martin and together they have two children.
