About Gael Martin
Gael Martin is an Australian Olympic athlete born on August 27, 1956. She is best known for her bronze medal finish in the shot put competition at the 1984 Olympics.
Prior to achieving Olympic success, Martin first gained attention as a competitor in the Commonwealth Games in 1978, where she won a silver medal in the discus event. Two years later at the same games, she won gold medals in both discus and shot put events.
Martin’s father, Ken Mulhall, was a professional soccer player for the St. Kilda Football Club.
