Franziska van Almsick, born on April 5, 1978 in Germany, is a renowned professional swimmer who made her mark by competing at the age of 14 in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. Her final professional performance was at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
Van Almsick’s swimming career began at the SC Dynamo Berlin club where she achieved gold medal victories during her first appearances in the Olympics. She was also honored as Female World Swimmer of the Year by Swimming World magazine in 1993.
