Francoise Hardy (born January 17, 1944 in France) is a French pop singer and actress. She gained widespread fame during the 1960s as part of the ye-ye movement with hits such as “Tous Les Garcons Et Les Filles” and “Dans Le Monde Entier.” In addition to her music career, Hardy is regarded as a fashion icon in France, thanks in part to her appearances in movies like What’s New Pussycat? and Grand Prix.
Hardy was born and raised in the 9th arrondissement of Paris and was influenced by chanson singers such as Charles Trenet. She signed her first record contract with Disques Vogue in 1961.
In addition to her musical success, Hardy has made notable contributions to film. Her song “Le Temps de l’Amour” featured prominently in the 2012 coming-of-age movie Moonrise Kingdom.
In 1981, she married French singer Jacques Dutronc, with whom she has a son named Thomas Dutronc who became a guitarist.
