Frances Cuka, born on August 21, 1936 in London, England, is a renowned TV actress best known for her recurring roles on various television series. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Grandma Buller in the popular sitcom Friday Night Dinner as well as Mrs. Bassey on Casualty and Martha Tanner on Doctors.
Cuka began her acting career in 1961 with her feature film debut in Over the Odds. Her first recurring television role was as Constance Povey in The Old Wives’ Tale.
Besides television, she has also established herself as a stage actress and performed in numerous productions at the Royal National Theatre including The Seagull, Pericles, and Broken Glass.
Frances Cuka was raised by her father Joseph and mother Letitia in London.
