Franca Sozzani, born on January 20, 1950 in Italy, is a prominent journalist known for her role as the chief editor of Vogue Italia magazine in the late 1980s. She later took on the position of editing Conde Nast Italia.
Before making her mark in the fashion industry, Sozzani earned a degree in philosophy and literature from the University of Mantua in the early 1970s. It was during her tenure that she helped shape the concept of “supermodels.”
She hails from Mantua, Italy and has two sisters named Carla and Maria. Her son, Francesco Carrozzini, who was born in 1982, followed his mother’s footsteps into photography and film directing.
