Fernanda Maciel, born on January 24, 1980 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, is a prominent runner known for her numerous achievements in ultra trail running.

Maciel gained recognition after winning The North Face TDS Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc in 2009 and securing second place at the Ultra Trail World Tour of 2014. In 2012, she made history by becoming the first woman to complete the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, covering a staggering distance of 860km in just 10 days. Additionally, she achieved another milestone by becoming the first woman to run up Aconcagua, the highest mountain in America.

Prior to her running career, Maciel trained as a gymnast and began competing at a high level from the age of ten before transitioning to running at fifteen.
