About Fernanda Keller
Fernanda Keller, born on October 4, 1963 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is a professional triathlete renowned for her pioneering role as the first woman to compete in the Ironman Triathlon World Championships. She achieved multiple victories at the Ironman Brazil competitions during the early and mid-2000s. In 2012, she established her own fitness company specializing in workout apparel.
Keller’s journey in triathlons commenced in 1983 while she was a university student in Rio de Janeiro. Her transition to professional competition occurred in 1987 and culminated with her inaugural medal at the Ironman World Championships in 1994.
Beyond her athletic pursuits, Keller has made significant contributions to society by establishing the Instituto Fernanda Keller – a social institution catering to around 700 adolescents – back in September of 1998.
Born and raised in Niteroi, Brazil, Keller embodies perseverance and success both athletically and philanthropically through her lifelong dedication to sports and community service.
