About Fanky Zapata
Fanky Zapata, born on September 27, 1978 in France, is a French professional pilot and inventor. He is best known for creating the Flyboard and serves as CEO of the Zapata Company, which produces a range of watercraft products including the Flyboard and its accessories.
Zapata began his jet ski career at age 16 and achieved success by winning various competitions and championships from 1996 to 2010, including several European RUN F1 Championships. In 2011, he founded the Zapata Company and developed the first Flyboard.
In addition to his work with the Flyboard, Zapata also invented the Hoverboard by ZR in 2014, utilizing a similar hydro-propulsion system. He hails from Marseille, France and co-owns Zapata Company with his wife Krystel Zapata.
