About Eva Schloss
Eva Schloss, born on May 11, 1929 in Vienna, Austria, is a Holocaust survivor and memoirist best known for being the stepdaughter of Otto Frank, father of Margot and Anne Frank. Following her family’s move to Belgium and then the Netherlands after Austria was annexed to Germany, they were betrayed to the Nazis in 1944 and taken to concentration camps where her father and brother died.
Schloss’ works include Eva’s Story: A Survivor’s Tale by the Step-Sister of Anne Frank, The Promise, and After Auschwitz. She earned an art history degree from the University of Amsterdam and co-founded the Anne Frank Trust UK. Her parents were Erich and Elfriede Geiringer; she had a brother named Heinz. Her mother married Otto Frank after World War II. Eva’s husband Zvi Schloss was also a refugee who passed away in July 2016.
