Erin Phillips, born on May 19, 1985, in Melbourne, Australia, is an Australian Rules Footballer and former professional basketball player. She made her debut in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) in 2006 for the Connecticut Sun and subsequently played for teams including the Phoenix Mercury, Los Angeles Sparks and Dallas Wings.
Prior to her WNBA career, she played in Australia’s Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL). Phillips transitioned to Australian rules football and notably played for Port Adelaide Magpies in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) as well as the Adelaide Crows in the AFL Women’s competition.
Her achievements include winning a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics held in Beijing. Erin was born into a sports-oriented family; her father is Greg Phillips, a former AFL footballer. Furthermore, she married Tracy Gahan—making her brother-in-law also an AFL player.
