About Emily Giffin
Emily Giffin is an American author known for her work in the “chick lit” genre, with novels such as Love the One You’re With (2009) and Heart of the Matter (2010). She was born on March 20, 1972, in Baltimore, Maryland. Giffin studied English and history at Wake Forest University before earning her J.D. from the University of Virginia’s School of Law. In 2001, she left her law career behind to move to London and pursue writing novels.
Giffin gained fame with her debut novel Something Borrowed (2004), which was later adapted into a film in 2011. Her book Where We Belong was published in 2012. She married Hartley D. Blaha in 2002 and has three children: twin boys named George and Edward, and a daughter named Harriet.
