Elizabeth Streb, born on February 23, 1950 in Rochester, New York, is an acclaimed choreographer known for her work in contemporary dance. She is the founder of Streb Extreme Action, a renowned dance studio that pushes boundaries with its risky and experimental choreography.
Streb’s impact on the dance world was further documented in the film “Born to Fly: Elizabeth Streb vs. Gravity,” which showcased her daring and innovative approach to movement.
Prior to gaining recognition, she graduated from the State University of New York at Brockport’s dance program in 1972 and subsequently established her own dance company in 1975. Additionally, she was honored with a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Grants to Artists Award in 1996.
