About Elizabeth Gilbert
Elizabeth Gilbert, born on July 18, 1969 in Waterbury, Connecticut, is a renowned novelist known for her bestselling memoir Eat, Pray, Love which was adapted into a film starring Julia Roberts. She has received critical acclaim for her other works such as Pilgrims (1997) and Stern Men (2000). Gilbert graduated from New York University with a degree in political science before gaining recognition for her article “The Muse of the Coyote Ugly Saloon” published in GQ magazine. This work later inspired the 2000 film Coyote Ugly.
In addition to her literary achievements, Gilbert’s book The Last American Man earned her a nomination for the National Book Award. In terms of personal life, she was married to Michael Cooper from 1994 to 2002 before marrying Jose Nunes in 2007; they separated in 2016.
