About Elinor Wylie
Elinor Wylie (September 7, 1885) was a poet and author born in Somerville, New Jersey. She is known for her sensual poetry collections such as Angels and Earthly Creatures and Nets to Catch the Wind, along with novels like The Venetian Glass Nephew and The Orphan Angel.
Before gaining recognition as a writer, Wylie attended the prestigious Holton-Arms School in Maryland. In the 1920s, she briefly served as the poetry editor of Vanity Fair.
Wylie’s personal life included several marriages and high-profile affairs before her marriage to Pulitzer Prize-winning poet William Rose Benet in 1923.
