About Edith Frank
Edith Frank was a German-born woman, known primarily as the mother of Anne Frank and a victim of the Holocaust. She was born in Aachen, Germany on January 16, 1900. Prior to her tragic death at the age of forty-four at Auschwitz concentration camp, she had lived a life that involved being part of a wealthy Jewish family with three siblings. In 1924, she met her husband Otto Frank and they married the following year.
Together with Otto Frank, Edith had two daughters named Margot and Anne. The family’s story became famous through Anne’s diary which documented their experiences while hiding from Nazi persecution during World War II.
