About Ebba Busch Thor
Ebba Busch Thor is a Swedish politician who has been the leader of the Christian Democrats since 2015. She was born on February 11, 1987, in Sweden. Prior to her political career, she served as a political secretary for councilor Gustaf von Essen in the Uppsala Municipality.
Busch Thor studied social sciences at Uppsala University before entering politics. She won election to become a Member of the Riksdag in 2018 and has been involved in various high-profile legal cases during her tenure.
In 2021, Busch Thor was sued for defamation after drawing attention to her opposing lawyer’s criminal history. As a result of this case, she pleaded guilty and was sentenced to probation along with a SEK 60,000 fine.
On a personal note, Busch Thor was married to soccer player Niklas Busch Thor from 2013 until their separation in 2020. The couple has two children together; their son Birger was born in 2015 and daughter Elise arrived in 2017.
