About Dottie Peoples
Dottie Peoples (born August 12, 1950) is an award-winning jazz and gospel singer hailing from Dayton, Ohio. She gained notoriety through albums such as the successful On Time God released in 1995. Alongside her singing career, she also took on roles as host, director, and producer of The Dottie Peoples’ Showcase, a beloved gospel music radio program.
Peoples kickstarted her musical journey by participating in her local church choir which led to involvement with her high school choir. Her talent was recognized with the Atlanta Gospel Choice Award for Song of the Year for three consecutive years from 1994 to 1996.
Born into a large family of ten children, Peoples’ father worked at General Motors while she pursued fame and success on stage and within the music industry.
