Donna McKechnie is a stage actress born on November 16, 1940, in Pontiac, Michigan. She is best known for her role as Cassie in the 1975 Broadway musical A Chorus Line, for which she received a Tony and a Drama Desk Award.
Prior to her fame, McKechnie started training in ballet at the age of five. She also played the character of Amanda Harris on Dark Shadows, a Gothic soap opera from 1969 to 1970.
In 1976, McKechnie married Michael Bennett; however, they divorced only a year later.
