Dena Mwana is a Congolese gospel singer and composer born on December 27, 1986, in Kinshasa, Congo Republic. She is known for dedicating her work and life to her worship of Christianity and has released recordings in multiple languages including French, English, Swahili, and Lingala.
She graduated from Mount Olive Bible Institute and Seminary on July 30, 2022. With a large fan base across various social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram reaching millions of followers.
Born Denise Mwanakitata Muwayi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Dena started singing publicly as a teenager when she joined her church’s choir at the age of thirteen. She later became Choir Director at eighteen.
Her first album “Hosanna” was released in 2011 followed by two more studio albums. Dena has performed in over sixteen different nations internationally and garnered several awards from organizations such as the African Gospel Music Awards.
From a family of eight children with her father working initially as a university professor then an oil executive who heavily influenced her musical career path. Dena is married to Michel Mutahali, founder of HappyPeople record label where he also manages her career; they have three children together – two sons and one daughter.
