About Deborah Eisenberg
Deborah Eisenberg is an American novelist, born on November 20, 1945, in Winnetka, Illinois. She is best known for her acclaimed work “Twilight of the Superheroes” published in 2007. In recognition of her literary contributions, she was awarded a prestigious MacArthur Fellowship in 2009.
Prior to gaining prominence as a writer, Eisenberg worked as an editorial assistant at The New York Review of Books and went on to publish her first short story collection titled “Transactions in a Foreign Currency” in 1986.
In addition to her writing career, she has also taught at Columbia University and the University of Virginia. Raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, Eisenberg currently resides with actor Wallace Shawn.
