About Daya
Daya, born Grace Tandon on October 24, 1998 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a pop singer and multi-instrumentalist. She gained recognition with the release of her self-titled debut album in September 2015, which featured the hit single “Hide Away.”
Daya began playing the piano at just three years old and later transitioned to jazz piano at eleven. She is also skilled in playing the guitar, ukulele, saxophone and flute. Daya attended the Accelerando Music Conservatory in Pittsburgh.
In August 2015, she made her first television appearance performing “Hide Away” on The Today Show. Daya comes from a diverse background with Indian, German, and Irish descent; her parents are Christine and Hans. She has four sisters and began dating Clyde Munroe in 2018.
