Davion Mitchell is an American basketball player born on September 5, 1998. He gained recognition as a point guard for Baylor University, contributing to their victory in the 2021 NCAA championship. Mitchell was honored with the 2021 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year award and was also a first-team All-Big 12 selection in 2021. His talents led to him being drafted ninth overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2021 NBA Draft.
Before his college career, Mitchell attended Liberty County High School in Hinesville, Georgia where he played a pivotal role in securing their first Georgia 4A state championship during the 2015-2016 season. Prior to joining Baylor, he spent his freshman year at Auburn University where he played off the bench and contributed to winning a SEC championship in 2018 before transferring.
