About Dave Shoji
Dave Shoji is a renowned volleyball coach who began his multi-decade career as the head coach at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1975. Throughout his tenure, he led the team to national titles in 1979, 1982, 1983 and 1987.
Prior to coaching, Shoji was a two-time All-American volleyball player at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His son, Kawika, also made significant contributions to the sport by playing volleyball at Stanford University and being named the AVCA Player of the Year for 2010.
In September 2013, Dave Shoji achieved a historic milestone when he became recognized as the winningest coach in Division I Women’s Volleyball history with an impressive record of 1,107 wins.
