About Dana Seetahal
Dana Seetahal was an Independent Party politician, attorney, and member of the Trinidad and Tobago Senate. Born on July 8, 1955 in Trinidad And Tobago, she graduated from the University of the West Indies and the Hugh Wooding Law School in the 1970s. Following her studies, she became a criminal law professor at the Hugh Wooding Law School after completing post-graduate criminology coursework at both the University of Minnesota and Florida State University.
Seetahal was also a legal writer who published “The effects of Urbanization and Industrialization on Crime: The Commonwealth Caribbean in the 1990s” along with numerous other articles. She came from a large family with ten siblings and her parents were Sarjudeya and Latchman Seetahal.
