Dagny is a Norwegian pop singer born on July 23, 1990 in Tromso, Norway. She gained widespread recognition after the success of her debut single “Backbeat,” which has amassed over 40 million streams on Spotify. Dagny was signed with Republic Records in the U.S.
Before rising to fame, she relocated to London at the age of 21 in 2012 and faced challenges before launching her first single, “Backbeat,” in September 2015. Growing up in a musical family, she wrote her first song titled “Silence” when she was just 15 years old. Notably, Dagny collaborated with DJ duo Seeb for the release of the song “Drink About.”
Her parents are vocalist Marit Sandvik and jazz artist Oyster Norvoll while she also has an older brother named Bjorn who battled cancer at the age of 15.
