About Christina Oiticica
Christina Oiticica is a Brazilian neo-concretist painter and eco-artist, born on November 23, 1951. She is known for her unique artistic approach of leaving her works outdoors to be finished by the elements.
Prior to gaining recognition in the art world, Christina divided her time between southwestern France and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her first exhibition chronicled her journey along the Path to Santiago de Compostela, and she chose Saint James Way as the site of her studio because it was a path taken by many spiritually oriented pilgrims from around the world.
In 1980, Christina married spiritual author Paulo Coelho. As an artist who incorporates nature into her creative process, she has made significant contributions to the field of contemporary art.
