Chris Chase, born Irene Greengard, was a prominent movie actress known for her performances under stage names Irene Kane and Helen Kane. She was born on January 12, 1924 in New York City, New York. Notably, she gained recognition for her portrayal of Gloria Price in Stanley Kubrick’s 1955 film “Killer’s Kiss.” After retiring from acting in the late 1970s, she transitioned into journalism and nonfiction writing.
Prior to her fame, Chase kickstarted her entertainment career as a model for Vogue magazine. In the 1960s, she appeared on the CBS soap opera “Love of Life” while also showcasing her talent in Broadway productions such as “Tenderloin,” “Threepenny Opera,” and “The Ponder Heart.”
Chase hailed from a notable family; she was the daughter of Benjamin and Pearl Greengard and had a brother named Paul Greengard who won the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 2000. Moreover, in 1962 she married television producer Michael Chase.
